Intake RequirementsAll clients who wish to use the services of the TCCC must attend an intake interview prior to commencing at the Centre. Intake interviews are essential to ensure parents/guardians understand how the service is offered and what their responsibilities are.
Intake interviews can be done by telephone for those clients who live outside the Toowoomba area and for those whom it would be unrealistic and create unnecessary hardship to attend the Centre.
Intake interviews take approximately one hour and during this time clients are provided with information about the service, the guidelines and given the opportunity to discuss any concerns they may have. Parent’s responsibilities are discussed and they are required to sign and agree to abide by the guidelines prior to the service being provided. Parents are also provided with a copy of the Centre Guidelines and the Withdrawal of Service Policy for their records.
Clients are also provided with the following information:
A designated car park area, entrance and waiting area. Information about confidentiality and the limitations to confidentiality.
Clients who refuse to sign the guidelines are unable to access the service.
Clients who live in the Toowoomba area are required to attend the intake interview in person.
Clients who live outside the Toowoomba area or who have exceptional circumstances, may have the intake process conducted by phone interview. Prior to a telephone interview occurring, clients will need to have accessed the Centre Guidelines, either by printing the forms from this website or by requesting the forms from the TCCC office. There is a $20.00 intake fee for each parents interview that is due at the time of the intake.
